Cantwell earns bi-partisan support in Scituate

In contrast to recent events where political candidates critiqued each other from rival podiums, our local Representative, Jim Cantwell, brought together leaders from both parties to discuss the needs of our south shore communities — and to receive bi-partisan support for his re-election.

Cantwell hosted a “Community Coffee” last Sunday at PJs Country House in Scituate and received the unanimous support of all eight Selectmen and Selectwomen in the District.

Two attendees at Cantwell’s coffee were Selectman Shawn Harris, a registered Republican, and Selectman Joe Norton, a Democrat.

“I am a registered Republican and do not normally get involved with partisan races”, stated Scituate Selectman Shawn Harris, who introduced Cantwell at the event, “but I am proud to support Jim Cantwell because he has demonstrated the kind of independent leadership and business sense that we need on Beacon Hill.”  Shawn Harris and Selectman Tony Vegnani, who also attended the Community Coffee are registered Republican voters.
Joe Norton, the Chair of the Scituate Board of Selectman added his comments:  “When Frank Hynes announced he was retiring I was worried that there would be a void of leadership for Scituate.  That concern has been quickly dispelled with the energetic and informed leadership of Jim Cantwell.  I have known Jim for over twenty five years and can state with conviction that he has been a superb Representative for Scituate.”

Other Scituate Selectmen and former Selectmen supporting Cantwell are Constantine Constantinides, John Danehey, Rick Murray, Susan Phippen, Jim Pollard, and Tony Vegnani.  All three Marshfield Selectmen have endorsed Cantwell as well:  John Hall, Michael Maresco, and Trish Reilly.

The Jim Cantwell Committee will be holding a formal Campaign Kick off on Sunday, March 28, at the VFW Hall on Rte 3A in Marshfield.  For information on this event please contact Andy Wening at andy@jimcantwell.com or call Ginny Kelty at 781 544-3070.   To reach Rep.
